Hotel Owners and Staff are excellent!!! All are very helpful. We really enjoyed the wonderful breakfasts served with a flair. The Hotel is located only a few steps from the Subway which gives you direct access to all of Berlin. Even though the Hotel is located very near the Center of Berlin, all rooms open up onto an inner courtyard making you feel like you are miles away from the busy city center. We were there with our 12 year old son to visit our daughter who was studying at the University of Berlin. Owners made all of us feel very welcome. We all agree that we would book here again!

All the rooms face to the inner garden, so it is very quiet in nights. The ledies, who are the frontdesk, cleaner and a cook in the same person, were really friendly and helpfull. Location in the heart of Berlin. Breakfast was included and the lady served it to us.
You can get a room with an own bathroom at this price in the city centre, but not breafast and as friendly service as we did, so you have to choose.

A lovely old building (with lift) and fantastic location by the main shopping street. extremely friendly and helpful owners and very good breakfast. The rooms looked out onto a central courtyard and were really quiet. I would definitely stay here again.
we had chosen the cheaper option with shared facilities and the one shower was a bit broken and far from the room.

Mrs. Koenig, the owner of the hotel was a perfect host. A very warm welcome on arrival put me at ease although I arrived much earlier than the scheduled time of 13:00 hrs. The Room was very nicely done. The atmosphere is very cosy and we saw lot of love for the job which Mr. & Mrs. Koenig were doing to maintain the happiness of their guests. I must say they were very helpful and courteous. That indeed is much wrth to come again, apart from the excellant locaton and well maintained antique architecture of the building. I will definately come again.
Offcourse the toilets & shower area needs to be spacious. A bottle of water is supplied every 2 days, would be better if it is on daily. Definately needs a modern tv as my TV's remote control was not perfectly functional.

The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Rooms are basic, clean, comfortable. The hotel is well located and great shops and restaurants are within a 2 min walk. Had a great stay as I was running the 2010 Berlin Marathon. Would definitely use this hotel again should I return to Berlin for a city break. A great hotel to dump your bag and go explore the city.

The owners were very friendly and welcoming. They were willing to help with anything we needed - They also speak excellent English which was a relief with our 2-3 phrase German! The hotel is situated close to city transport with shops/restarurants/supermarkets nearby.
The rooms, whilst comfortable and clean are not luxury - But then neither are the prices! The Hotel itself is on 1 floor of a large building - On one night there was a small party in the Court yard which got quite noisy - This was Saturday night though, so almost expected in a big city.

Hotel Pension Columbus is a lovely family run hotel. Nothing was too much trouble, help with travel, eating out and things to see and do. Very well situated for everything.......... We highly recommend this hotel .
Minor detail, the towels could have been of better quality!

An absolutely lovely Hotel-Pension!! Staff is terrific. The rooms face beautiful inner courtyards, so it is very quiet at night. Breakfast is very good. I was upgraded to a nicer room for no extra charge (as it was available). It is very easy to get from this hotel (in the zoo / Ku'damm area) to all other parts of Berlin via S-bahn or subway, and is a 10-minute S-bahn ride away from the central train station.

We found Frau Koenig and the staff to be extremely helpful and eager to see to our needs. Whenever we return to Berlin, we will definitely plan on staying at the Columbus again. It also has an incredibly convenient location for our purposes.
Our only problem was one over which the staff had absolutely no control: the heat. The record breaking heat wave in Germany coincided with our trip, but we cannot fault the hotel in any respect for the lack of an occasional cool breeze at night in our room.
